Chimney caps
A chimney cap covers only the flue and is also sometimes referred to as a rain cap or spark arrestor. They have several functions, including the following:
- Preventing water from entering the flue.
- Guarding against animal entry.
- Keeping burning embers from exiting the flue and causing a roof fire.
Every chimney flue needs a cap! A flue without a cap is a hole in your roof.

Full-coverage chimney caps
Full-coverage chimney caps take the place of a concrete chimney crown. They are custom-fabricated and available in a variety of metals and can be powder-coated in several different colors. Features include the following:
- An angled drip edge.
- Standing seams.
- Heavy-duty mesh screening.
- A sloped horizontal skirt that repels water.

Chimney chase covers
Chimney chase covers extend fully across the top of the chimney chase. Chase covers, often found on prefabricated or factory-built chimneys, are available in a variety of metals, including galvanized, stainless steel, aluminum, and copper. Features include the following:
- A water-tight, soldered pipe collar (rather than caulked).
- A 2-1/2 inch hemmed lip.
- A cross-break that forms a slope to shed water.
We can have chase covers custom-made to fit any size or shape of chimney.

Top-mount dampers
A top-mounted damper, or top-sealing damper, is essentially a chimney cap and a damper in one. As opposed to a throat damper, located above the firebox, a top-mounted damper seals the chimney from the top, with a chain connected to a handle that allows for easy opening and closing from below. We use the Chim-A-Lator brand.

Utility flue (type B) caps
Utility flue caps, such as this type B gas vent cap, cover only the flue of the appliance. They serve to allow for the safe venting of gases from gas furnaces, boilers, and water heaters, while also preventing the entry of water, animals, and debris.
